I got both Wall E and The Taking of Pelham 123 for Christmas on Blu Ray, and watched them both the other night.

I like most Pixar films, so I was looking forward to seeing Wall E, and for a kids movie, it was really good. Would definitely recommend it. The animation is top notch too.

Pelham 123 was decent too. I'm a big fan of Denzel Washington, so that definitely played a factor into my enjoyment, but still thought it was alright. What you see is basically what you get, so if you think you want to see it, you'll probably like it.

Travolta was clearly better than Denzel in Pelham 123. The film has a great premise but it's executed fairly poorly. I should watch the original sometime, it's supposed to be much better than this version.

Last film I saw was Inglourious Basterds, it's even better on second viewing. HANS LANDA is tremendous and deserves like five Oscars.

The original is way better movie, I thought the remake was good, Denzel rarely makes a bad movie.

I watched Clooney's "Up in the Air", not bad, it's getting alot of Oscar buzz already.

I've spent the day watching what could well be the finest crime drama/gangster film I have ever seen - Mesrine Parts 1 and 2.

It's a French film so if you are going to give it a watch then make sure there are subtitles. If your a member of Lovefilm you can watch both parts of it free online using their new web service until the 25th Jan I think.

Now onto the film, it's basically the life of Jacques Mesrine who was once said to be 'Public enemy number 1'. Have a read about him, he's a complete bad ass and broke out of prison something like 4 times, 4 fucking times! -
Jacques_Mesrine Jacques_Mesrine

The acting in it is fucking superb, it's some of the best I've ever seen. The guy that plays Mesrine, Vincent Cassel, is immense. His performance in this film is right up there with some of the best performaces in modern film.

If you have any slight interest in gangster/crime drama's then you need to watch this. Have a ganders at the trailer -

It's pure voted 10 stuff.

Recently I watched 'Lesbian Vampire Killers', 'Donkey Punch' and 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Do-da Thingymajig.'

Shit, worse than shit and suprisingly not shit, in that order.

I have no idea why I watched 'Lesbian Vampire Killers' considering I knew I'd probably hate it going in. James Corden is probably the single most irredeemable person in the history of the world. Worse than Hitler. Worse than Ted Bundy. Worse even than Robbie Williams. Point is, yeah, Vampire Killers is a piece of shit despite the title and despite having at least a dozen pieces of ass in it.

'Donkey Punch' is a putrid fucking mess of a film with shitty unlikeable characters (seriously you want every single fucker on the boat to die a horrific death) and shitty acting with some weird moments of unintentional hilarity (guy shot with a fucking flare gun dies in hilariously over the top fashion). Avoid it, it's a piece of shit wrapped in piss shrouded in ass.

'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist' is...surprisingly not bad. It's kinda the 'quirky indie comedy' with 'oh so achingly cool music' where they mention The Cure and whatnot we've seen a billion times in recent years but I kinda liked it; it's better than fucking 'Juno' anyway. Michael Cera plays the same character he does in everything (but hasn't yet bettered the one which started said run, as George Michael in 'Arrested Development') but whatever. I continue to dig the shit out of Kat Dennings too. It's bordering on obsessive at this point. But, seriously, that body? Those tits? Oof marone. And it's weird because Cera's girlfriend's character is presented as the piece of ass in it at the start and Dennings is the awkward one or whatever but the girlfriend looks like an anorexic 12 year old girl/lollipop hybrid of some sorts and when she's doing the strip for Cera it's really fucking unsexy. Gimme Dennings over her any day of the week and twice on Sundays, even if it is a day of rest.

Watched Dorian Grey last night. Gotta give the guy props, in a few short weeks he transformed from a pretty boy, "yes, ma'am, may I get the door for you?" to a filthy, alchoholic, crack head whore fucking animal. A pretty likable guy.

Watched The Orphan last night. Pretty fucking great and "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" - which I think you'll agree, is a tremendous combination.
